Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation – Safety Council Rebate Program

The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) will continue their Safety Council Rebate Program in July 2010. The Program will be conducted the same as this year's Program. Remember that if you are enrolled in either the BWC's Group Rating or Group Retrospective Programs, you cannot participate in the Safety Council Rebate Program.

This will be the 6th year that the BWC offers this Program. Over 200 of our members were enrolled in last year's Program and all together they received more than $1,352,748 from the initial 2% in rebates back from the BWC. Our Safety Council Members collectively received the highest amount of money paid out, of any other Safety Council in the state. Were you in that number? If not, why not?

This year's Program runs from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011. You must fulfill all of the requirements to successfully complete the Program. Please click here to view the enclosures issued by the BWC that list Program requirements. Anyone interested in participating in the Program for the upcoming year must complete an Enrollment Form and a Semi-Annual Report Form for the first half of 2010. You must return these completed forms to our Safety Council Office by July 31, 2010.

Please review the BWC material and consider enrolling in this Program because the benefits to you are many-fold. First and foremost, you can receive money back from the BWC which serves as a savings in your workers' compensation costs. Secondly, you will actively participate in our Safety Council by attending monthly meetings that are informative and helpful. This information can help you increase safety awareness within your organization that will help reduce injuries and lost-time. Also when you attend our meetings, you will have the opportunity to network with others which can be a very valuable and helpful resource.

In these difficult financial times when you are looking for every available dollar to supplement your strained budget, this Program can be an additional source of revenue.

Do not delay – enroll today because the deadline to enter the Program is July 31, 2010. The Semi-Annual Report and New Enrollment Form can now be completed online at our website.

Please note that if your company is enrolled in Group Rating or Group Retro you cannot earn the BWC rebate.
