CPR Training with AED Familiarization and Basic First-Aid Class

  • Greater Cleveland Safety Council Classroom 1422 Euclid Avenue, Suite 1672 Cleveland, OH, 44115 United States (map)

In an emergency, you may think, I don’t want to get involved; I’ll just call 911 and let them handle it.  How long will it take for the emergency squad to arrive?  Even if you are in a municipality that has a good response time, if you do nothing for the victim, you will lose 5 to 10 minutes of precious time that could significantly reduce the chance of survival.  What if it was a friend or a family member?  Wouldn’t you want to know CPR that would enable you to take immediate action that could mean the difference between saving a life or someone dying.

The Greater Cleveland Safety Council will offer a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, CPR Training Class with Automated External Defibrillator, AED familiarization to individuals who may need this training for their employment or for those who desire to learn and be certified with this worthwhile training.  Our CPR Classes teach the importance of both compressions and breaths for a greater chance of saving someone’s life.

Included with this training package, we will provide a class in basic first-aid.   This class will cover injury assessments, soft tissue injuries, muscle and bone injuries, facial injuries, burns, poisoning, sudden illnesses and environmental emergencies. The goal of this training is to help people gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to manage a medical emergency until more advanced help arrives.

Each student will receive all materials to facilitate his/her understanding of both training classes.  In the CPR Class, each person will have their own manikin to practice with and use for their test and certification.  Each student will also receive a barrier mask for his/her keychain that can be used when performing CPR that will help reduce the risk of exposure to potentially infectious body fluids.  Each student will also receive a First-Aid Guide Pocket-Pal for future reference.  All students who successfully complete these classes will receive certification cards valid for 2 years.  Light refreshments will be provided to the class.  The cost of the class is $89.

Registration is required prior to the class. You can register for the class and pay online. The class size is limited to 24 people and a minimum of 10 people will be needed to conduct the class.

This Training Class Counts as One (1) Meeting Credit for the BWC's Safety Council Rebate Program
