That Face This Type of Workforce

With

Kathleen Davenport

Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation
January 13, 2022

10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

With the onset of Covid-19, many employers were forced to close their nonessential businesses to prevent the widespread of the disease. However, many businesses continued their business operations by allowing their employees to work from home. Today some businesses continue to have employees work from home and through this period, several issues have been raised concerning this new type of workforce.

This presentation will discuss the BWC’s response to Covid, some statistics on Covid claims and what constitutes a Covid claim. It will also discuss the compensability of any claim and relate it to potential at home injuries. There will be talk about employees that work from home but live in another state. There will be discussion about the employer’s ability to report payroll to the telecommuting classification.

Kathleen Davenport is the Southwest Regional Business Consultant with the BWC’s Employer Services Division located in Springdale, Ohio. She has been with the BWC since 1994.
